Leesa Kay King

Leesa Kay Smith King, 66, of Frederick, passed from this life on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at her home in Frederick. She was the loving wife of Lance Richard King. They were married for 34 years.

Born October 11, 1956, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late John Woodrow and Eleanor (Albright) Smith. Leesa recently retired from Noah’s Property Management and previously worked for the Frederick County Animal Shelter. She was an avid supporter of many animal welfare groups. She was a very special person with the kindest soul imaginable. She loved her kitties, her family and her country.

She never missed sending birthday or holiday cards to all of her loved ones to celebrate their special moments. Leesa loved the outdoors especially in autumn when the colors changed, and in the summer listening to the waves washing up on the beach in the outer banks.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister, Wanda (Smith) Kirk and husband Harvey Kirk III; nephew, Jeffrey Stull and wife, Janice; niece, Jennifer Kirk; nephew, John Kirk; Brothers in law Anthony King and wife Valerie, nephew, Demetri King, all of Ogden Utah; Chester King III; father in law Chester King Jr of Toledo Ohio and several great-nephews and great-great nieces.

The family will receive friends on October 21, 2022, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E Church St, Frederick, MD, from 10:00 to 12:00 with services following.
