Laurence J. Cooper

Dr. Laurence J. Cooper, 88, of New Freedom, Pa peacefully passed from this life on Thursday November 7, 2019 at a Home in The Country, Brunswick, MD. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores O. Cooper who predeceased him January 26, 2019.  Born August 31, 1931 in New York, New York, he was the son of the late Charles and Lillian (Shulman) Cooper. Dr. Cooper is survived by his daughter, Mary Beth McKane and her husband Steven and grandson, James McKane.  After his service in the US Army during the Korean War, he completed is undergraduate degree at Seton Hall University and later earned his PhD from The Pennsylvania State University. A memorial mass will  be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2019 at St. John's the Evangelist Catholic Church, 118 E. 2nd Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Interment will  be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick MD.
