Lance Richard King, age 66, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Frederick Health Hospital. He was born on August 10, 1958, to the late Chester Lawrence King Jr. and June Margaret DeChant King of Toledo, Ohio. He was a very talented craftsman starting his career in the construction trade, traveling around the country. At one point, he and his wife Leesa owned and operated a small craft store in downtown Frederick. Lance eventually ended up working for Lehigh Portland Cement Company in Union Bridge, MD where he worked as an electrician until he retired in 2022.
Lance was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Leesa Kay Smith King, who was the love of his life. He is survived by his two fur kitties Meggie and Binx, his brother Anthony King and wife Valerie, brother Chester King, nephew Jeffrey Stull and wife Janice, nephew Demetri King and wife Christina, great nephews Brandon Roberts and Randy Stull, great-great nieces Raelynn and Rikki Roberts, close friend Mary Creed, and many other loving friends who will forever hold his memory dear to their hearts. He will be remembered for his quirky humor, thoughtfulness, and selfless willingness to help others in need.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 9:00-10:00 am at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St, Frederick MD 21701. A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am with interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery immediately following. Memorial donations in memory of Lance can be made to the American Stroke Association
