Mrs. Kathleen Secoges, 68, of Adamstown, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at her residence. She was the loving wife of Jim Secoges for 42 years.
Born December 12, 1955 in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Jim and Mary Casey.
Kathleen graduated from Ursuline academy in Bethesda, MD 1973 and went on to earn her bachelors of fine arts in dance from Butler University. Over the years, Kathleen shared her love of ballet with numerous inner city youth of Indianapolis and thousands of students she taught at multiple dance studios. But what Kathy enjoyed most of all was her calling to be a mother and eventually a grandmother. From soothing her children's chicken pox with oatmeal baths to making pinatas for her kid's birthday parties to always having window markers for her grandkids to decorate her windows before taking them to Chuckie Cheese, Kathy always made sure her kids and grandkids knew they were the most important people to her.
Kathy was a devout Catholic who was a perfect example of how to lead a Christ-like life. She was an active parishioner at St. Joseph on Carrollton Manor; often attending daily mass. She served the church with an active role in multiple ministries- washing altar linens, serving as a minister of Holy Communion, taking Holy Communion to those who cannot attend mass, providing food for funeral receptions and overseeing the scheduling for Eucharastic Adoration. And whether Kathy knew you or not, she has prayed for you as evidenced by her expansive collection of prayer cards and devotions.
In addition to her husband, Kathy is survived by her children; Joe Secoges and wife Tiffany, Mary Bowman and husband Sean and Jimmy Secoges, grandchildren- Brooke, Kinsley, Jenelle and Evan. She will be greatly missed by all those who know and love her.
The family will receive friends from 4pm to 7pm on Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM, on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at St Joseph on Carrollton Manor Catholic Church, 5843 Manor Woods Road, Frederick. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
