Kathleen Lynn Kelly

Mrs. Kathleen Lynn Kelly, 65, passed away at her home in Middletown, MD, on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

Born September 21, 1958, in Washington, D.C. She was the daughter of Dorothy Ferruzza and the late Angelo Ferruzza.

For those who knew her, the world is a little duller today. Kathy brought a quick sense of humor and vibrant approach to every part of her life as a mother, wife, daughter, sister, Mom-Mom, foster mother, potter, and successful business executive. Kathy adored her family and consistently put their needs ahead of her own. She loved having her coffee brought to her bedside each morning by her soulmate and husband of 30 years, Mike Ellis. As a foster mother, she cared for 28 at-risk newborns. As the VP of Recruitment for Carahsoft Technology Corp., she directed the meteoric growth of the workforce from 6 to 3000 employees. She loved the following, in no particular order, big hair, big earrings, catching/ cooking/ eating Maryland blue crabs, grey goose vodka, hand thrown pottery, playing Monopoly Deal, island destination vacations with the family, growing orchids, gardening, eating ahi tuna and wedge salads, holding newborns, watching reality TV, and beating slot machines.

Besides her husband, Kathy is survived by her daughter, Brittany Coffman and husband Bob; son, Anthony Nottingham; grandson, Kyle Brewer; granddaughters, Brielle Coffman, Finley Coffman and Emory Coffman; sisters Diane Nolan and husband Mark; and Eileen Komara and husband Greg; and many nieces and nephews.
