Karen G. Tobery

On Thursday, August 1, 2024 Karen G. Tobery rested from her labors, in Hagerstown, MD. surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 29, 1965 to the late - Evelyn Harriett Tobery (nee Holt) and - Arthur George Tobery, Jr. and is survived by her loving brother Bruce W. Tobery (Tina) and loving sister Jennifer L. Tobery Hargest (Brian). Her extended family include her nephews; Justin Tobery, Andrew Grimm/wife Carissa, Hunter Freeman, Noah Freeman, the late Mitchell Tobery and Aiden Hargest; her nieces; Kacie Tobery Boyle and husband Jarrett, Madison Hargest, Mckenzie Hargest, Amber Grimm Burdick and husband Scott and Kristen Grimm Dominguez and husband Ryan and the late Hannah Freeman as well as great nieces and nephews; Trent Sewell, Micah Sewell, Raelynn Boyle, Atley Boyle and her aunts; Betty J. Smith, Patricia Whipp, Katherine Walters, husband Dennis, Betty Holt, Wanda Carey and Mary Tobery. Karen’s best friends are Hannah Oduro and Miranda Baugher, her very special friend the late Gerald Gastley, and the incredible ARC staff that net her every need. Karen attended Rock Creek School in Frederick, Md, and Marshall Street School in Hagerstown. She also attended adult day programs at the Potomac Center, Lycher and the United Cerebral Palsy. Karen was a social butterfly that loved to meet new people. Her smile and laugh lit up a room. She loved to talk, shop, gamble with scratch off tickets, celebrate her Birthday and Christmas, sing, and listen to country music, especially Alan Jackson. She loved babies, attending family events, and spending time with her family. Friends and relatives are invited to visit on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Homes, P.A. 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, Maryland 21701 From 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. where a celebration of Karen will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery immediately following.
