Joseph Conrad Burdette, Sr.

On February 9, 2023, Joseph Conrad Burdette, Sr., age 72, of Frederick, MD, passed away in Brunswick, MD. He was born in Frederick on August 20, 1950 and is the son of the late Dorsey Burdette and Frances Schultz Burdette.

Joseph was a minister for more than 40 years serving congregation of several Churches of God, most notably Mt. Briar Church of God in Keedysville, MD for 38 years. As a part of his ministry, he always made a special effort to visit parishioners and friends who were ill. Joseph loved tracing his family ancestry and studying history in general. He loved family trips and spending time with his children and grandchildren who were the highlight of his life. He loved his trips to Nutters for ice cream.

Joseph is survived by his children Joseph Burdette, Jr. (Tracey), and Emily Griffith (Robert), grandchildren Madison Griffith, Tara Burdette, Mackenzie Griffith and Nikolas Burdette, siblings Richard Burdette (Jeanette) and Sandra Burdette. He is predeceased by his grandson Andrew Burdette.

The family will receive friends from 4 - 7 pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, P.A., 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD. A funeral service will be held at Edgewood Church of God, 8204 Edgewood Church Rd., Frederick, MD on Wednesday, February 15, at 11 a.m. with family receiving friends one hour prior.
