John Esker Mills

John Esker Mills (68), of Belton TX, formerly of Frederick MD, died peacefully on July 10, 2021.  Born in Poolesville MD in 1953 to the late Esker and Oma Mae Mills he was the loving husband to C. Lynn Mills, father to Matthew, Dan Mills and Michael King, grandfather to Patrick, Kirk, Claire, Elise, Blake and Drake Mills, as well as Kaitlyn King.

John graduated from Poolesville High School in 1971 and attended Frostburg State College.  He began his lifelong career at T.W. Perry, starting as a petty cash day laborer and retiring 47 years later as a VP/Partner.  His happiest days were spent unloading boxcars full of lumber and building materials with a forklift.  He enjoyed going to NHRA Championship racing with his buddies, hunting, fishing, antiquing, auctions, yard sales, his Monday night meeting at the diner, spending time with his family and friends and dogs and coaching his sons in little league Baseball.  John had a deep faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be held on Friday July 23 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Keeney Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street Frederick MD, 21701, where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday July 24, 2021 at 9:00 AM with interment to immediately follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market St., Frederick MD 21701. In Lieu of flowers donations in his honor can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
