Jo Anne White

Jo Anne White, 98 years old, passed peacefully on November 4, 2024, at Country Meadows in Frederick, Maryland. Jo Anne was born on May 23, 1926 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Lewis D. (d) and Hazel J. Henderson (d).

She is survived by her husband of 81 years, Hubert (Duke) White; and children Bruce White (Andrea), Sherry Shepard (Larry), Victor White (Mary Jo), Pat Bender (Bill), Ron White (Linda), and Carey White (Debbie).

She was predeceased by her daughter, Joyce Hughes (Ron). She is also survived by one sister, Donna Reitz, and preceded in death by her remaining siblings; Jean Weathers, Joyce Sechler, Truman Henderson, and Lewis D. Henderson, Jr.

Jo Anne was blessed with 20 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was so proud of each. She spent many busy years raising her large family and took special joy in playing piano, gardening, sewing, reading and playing word games, especially Scrabble. A life-long Christian, she faithfully devoted her time and talents to all of her church families. She will be greatly missed.

The family will welcome friends at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, Maryland, on Monday, November 11, 2024. Viewing from 10-11AM, followed by a brief celebration of life. A graveside service will follow on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 11 AM at Green Hill Cemetery, 953 South Potomac Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
