James D. Hart

Visitation services for Mr. James D. Hart, on the evening of January 6, 2025, have been cancelled due to weather. Visitation will begin on January 7, 2025 from 10am until the start of the funeral service at 11am.

Mr. James D. Hart, 82, of Frederick, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Frederick Health.  He was the loving husband of the late Julia "Tickie" Hart, who preceded him in death in June 2024.

Born December 17, 1942 in Plattsburg, NY, he was the son of the late Donald and Loretta M. (Bleau) Hart.

James is survived by his siblings; Thomas Hart, Charlotte Apperson (Austin), Starlene McKara, Sally Thornton (Tom) and Bruce Hart (Louise), special nieces, Sally McMurry (Louie) and Vicki Knill, numerous other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, James was preceded in death by his brother; Gary Hart.

James served his country in the US Army from 1962 to 1965.  He was a Program Manager with the Pentagon for 35 years.  He was a member of the FSK American Legion, ELKS and VFW.  He was an avid golfer and a member of the Friday Mixed Couples league at Terrace Lanes.

The family will receive friends from 4pm to 7pm, on Monday, January 6, 2025 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, P.A., 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD. For those unable to attend on Monday, friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday prior to the service.  The funeral service will be at 11a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at the funeral home.  Interment immediately following Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
