Gladys V. Wastler, age 90 of Frederick, Maryland passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 6, 2024. She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Edward Wastler. Gladys was born on May 28, 1934 to the late Clemma Viola Bidle May and the late James Harvey May. After a brief career at the Fredericktown Bank and Trust Co., she embraced the full-time role of raising her three sons. Through the years she also loved caring for many other family and friends. Gladys supported her family by cheering on her children and grandchildren at countless sporting events; including practices and even if they were just coaching, as well as all of their other activities. She loved watching her family and cherished these moments which gave her so much joy. From her craft room, she also loved creating cards and making albums for her loved ones. Gladys leaves behind a legacy of love. In addition to her husband of nearly 65 years, she is survived by her devoted sons, Dale and his wife Norene, Martin and his wife Beverly and Jay and his wife Melissa. She is the loving grandmother of Casey and his wife Claire, Bradley, Brooke and Sydney. She is the loving great grandmother of Saylor, Kaliana and Elliana. Gladys was preceded in death by all her siblings, J. Elmer May, Margaret E. Smyth, Nelson R. May, Betty L. May and Helen L. Heller. Church Street, Frederick, Maryland 21701 on Monday, June 10 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral ceremony in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at the historic Mount Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market Street, Frederick, MD. 21701 immediately following.
