Geralene H. Engle

Geralene (Gerry) H. Engle, age 86, passed away December 11, 2023. Born November 15, 1937, Sandy Hook, MD.

She was the daughter of the late Martha Virginia Hawes Henretty and the late Roy Layton Henretty.

Married to the late Wayne C. Engle for 59 years. She attended the Brownsville Church of the Brethren. She graduated from Boonsboro High School in 1955. She retired from the State of Maryland, Frederick County Health Department in 1993, with over 25 years of service. She enjoyed hosting family events, holiday parties, and traveling abroad and on many cruises with friends and family.

Survived by daughter Cindy Engle Cutsail and husband Keith of Middletown; grandsons Jason Cutsail and wife Courtney of Williamsport; Ryan Cutsail of Boonsboro, great-grandson Grayson Cutsail; sister Mary Elizabeth (Patsy) Henretty Thompson of Frederick; brother Roy Thomas (Tom) Henretty and wife Billie Jo of Utah; nephews Allen Thompson of Walkersville; Randy Thompson of Frederick; David Henretty and wife Michelle of Oregon; McKay Henretty and wife Amy of Ohio; Adam Henretty and wife Lisa of Ohio; nieces Christa Henretty Meek and husband Wade of Washington; Josie Henretty Hartman and husband Travis of Oregon; and Sarah Henretty Workman and husband Ben of Utah; and many great nieces and nephews.

The viewing will be held from 4pm to 7pm, on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00AM, on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Brownsville Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Knoxville, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 108 Byte Drive # 103, Frederick, MD 21702.
