Francis W. Main

Francis William (Bill) Main, of Brunswick, MD, formerly of Urbana, 86, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

Born on February 4, 1936 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Frank and Lova Main.
Bill was a dairy farmer in Urbana for over 30 years. The farm in Urbana was where he and Nannie raised their family and hosted numerous family gatherings, especially on Thanksgiving and Mother’s Day.
He enjoyed sports, playing fast pitch softball in his younger years and bowling with friends and family in a league. He enjoyed watching the Orioles, the Redskins and University of Maryland football and basketball games, as well as attending school events and sports events for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Main , in 1998 and a son, Bobby Main .  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Peggy Main , Doris Hordendorf, Charles Main , George Main and Donald Main . He is survived by his children, Bill Main , Tom Main (Cris), John Main (Karen), Andy Main (Jill) and Cindy Brandenburg (Michael).  He is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher Main (Nyssa), Kristen Repasky (Brian), Jason Gates (Erin), Kenny Main (Sara), Aaron Main (Ashley), Amy Wolf (Josh), Zach Main (Sydney, fiancé), Rachel Main and Lexi Main .  He is also survived by his great grandchildren Abigail Repasky, Ethan Repasky, Madelyn Main , Sophie Main , Gavin Main , Sawyer Main , Coraline Main , Avery Gates, Ellie Wolf, Nolan Main , Isabel Main and Ryker Wolf.  He is also survived by his siblings, Lova Ann Smith, Joan Walsh and Michael Main .

The family will receive friends from 4 - 7 pm on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, P.A. 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, in Frederick, MD.
