Mrs. Florence Brengle Shober, 96, formerly of Frederick, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019, at Charlotte's Home, in Boonsboro. She was the wife of the late Emil E. Shober, who died January 25, 2000. Born in Frederick on March 13, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Staley Brengle.
Florence was retired from the Frederick County Public Schools, where she worked many years as a secretary, with over 20 years at the Elm Street School. She was a longtime and active member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren, the Bydanho Sunday School Class, the Women's Service Guild and had taught Sunday School and sang with the church choir.
Surviving are her children, Nancy Bussard, of Middletown and Larry Shober and wife Doris, of Burlington, TX, sister-in-law, Cordelia Brengle, of PA, granddaughters, Dana Crespo and Chris and Denise Stabler and Mike, great grandchildren, Garrett, Morgan, Josh and Taylor and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Kent B. Shober, sister, Mary Frances Shober and two brothers, Paul S. and David L. Brengle.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, June 21, 2019 at the Frederick Church of the Brethren 201 Fairview Ave., Frederick, MD 21701. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Private interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home.
