Mrs. Evangelia (Eva) P. Cambetes, of Frederick, MD, passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Eva was born on August 6, 1926 in Christos Raches, Ikaria, Greece. She was the wife of the late George Cambetes, and daughter to the late Leonidas and Kalliopi Christidis Papavasilaki.
Eva worked as a professional seamstress for most of her life. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Frederick, MD, St. Eugenia Ladies Philoptochos, and the Order of the Eastern Star in Kensington, MD. Eva adored her family, and enjoyed cooking and her yearly travels to Greece to visit family and friendsSurviving are her sons, Christo G. Cambetes and wife Teresa (Terri), of Ijamsville, MD and Steve L. Cambetes and wife Teresa, of Leesburg, VA, step daughter Sharon Millet, of Cottonwood, AZ, sister, Helen Diamandakou, and four grandchildren, Sarah, Michael, Ryan and Troy, great grandchildren, Madison, Daniel and Hannah, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a step son, George Cambetes, brother, Sarantos Papavasilaki, and sister, Irene Karoutsos.
Funeral services and interment will be private. Family visitation will be held at the funeral home, on Monday, January 25, 2021, from 3 to 5 PM. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, P.A., Frederick, MD. COVID restrictions will be necessary.
