Ellen Pucciarelli

On Sunday, January 8, 2023, Ellen Petrofesi Pucciarelli, loving wife and mother to five children, passed away at age 87.

Ellen was born on December 18, 1935, in New York City. After graduating from St. Patrick’s Cathedral Nursing school in New York City in 1956, and later earning her Masters degree in Public Health from Georgetown University, she worked in the health field as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. Upon moving to Maryland, she worked as a shock trauma nurse at Suburban Hospital and later in Public Health with Montgomery County School System.

On October 8,1960, she married Samuel Pucciarelli. They raised three daughters, Margaret, Ellie, and Ann and two sons, Christopher and Michael. Ellen was known as a caring and generous person whom everyone loved. Later in life she built a small vintage antique business, Martin’s
Field in Buckeystown, MD and the Silver Cricket on Chincoteague Island. Her independent and kind spirit was evident up until her passing.

Ellen was preceded by her husband, Samuel, her father, Michael, her mother, Margaret, and her sister Annette,. She is survived by her sisters Evelyn and Regina, her five children, Margaret, Christopher, Michael, Ellie and Ann, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held in Ellen’s honor at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Mausoleum, 515 S Market St, Frederick, MD. There will be a Celebration of Life reception following the service.
