Edward M Rhoderick

Edward M. Rhoderick, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Edward is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janet I. (Wastler) Rhoderick.

Born on February 19, 1932 in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of the late Maurice and Grace (Angleberger) Rhoderick.

Edward and Janet married later in life and made the perfect couple. He was the quiet, shy type while she was outgoing and friendly to anyone she met. Together, they spent many enjoyable hours collecting and listening to Polka musIc. They were well known among the Polka circuit spanning Maryland and Pennsylvania, and enjoyed friendships with like-minded souls from around the country.

Edward was a graduate of Frederick High School, class of 1951. He retired from Griffith Oil in 1994, and began the second phase of his life pursuing his lifelong interest in carpentry. He spent untold hours in the wood shop perfecting his carpentry skills. Over the years he made literally hundreds of gifts for his friends and family. He was known for his tinkering skills and worked around the house "fixing things" up until the day of his passing.

Edward passed peacefully in his sleep in his home, just like he always wanted. Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Utica Cemetery, 10621 Old Frederick Rd., Thurmont, MD 21788
