Dorothy Greenwood

Mrs. Dorothy V. Greenwood, 90, of Walkersville, formerly of Easton, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024.  She was the wife of the late Richard Greenwood, Sr, who preceded her in death in 1991.

Born December 23, 1933 in Walkersville, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Pearl (May) Strine.

Dorothy was a registered nurse for over 40 years.  In her spare time, she enjoyed her cats and bowling.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Komenda and Tamara Simmons (Wayne), grandsons, Richard Dawson (Kat) and Geoffrey Simmons.  Also a special step-son, Richard Greenwood Jr. and his family.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00PM, on Monday, September 30, 2024 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701.  The family will receive friends an hour prior at 12:00PM.  Interment will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery, Libertytown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's name to a Humane Society of one's choice.
