Donald K. Bonner (Duke), 77, of Knoxville, MD Donald K. Bonner, affectionately known as "Duke," passed away at the age of 77. He was born on March 18, 1947, in Cumberland, Maryland to the late Hobert B. and Betty M. Bonner. Duke was a proud graduate of Frederick High School's Class of 1965. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1966, where he served honorably until his discharge in 1974. Following his military service, Duke pursued a career in engineering, dedicating 29 years of his professional life to EastAlco. Outside of work, Duke found great joy in fishing, hunting, and working outdoors. The Appalachian Mountains of Maryland and West Virginia held a special place in his heart, where he spent much of his time enjoying nature's beauty. Duke is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Carol L. Bonner (Jacobs). He was a devoted father to his sons, David and his wife Pamela, and Michael and his wife Doris. He was predeceased by his grandson, Blake, son of David and Pamela. Duke cherished his surviving grandsons, Wyatt, son of David and Pamela, and Jacob, son of Michael and Doris. He is also survived by his brothers, John and his wife Vicky, and William (Bill) and his wife Kathy. His extended family includes his brother-in-law, Richard (Dick) and his wife Jane, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
