David Lee Himes

David Lee Himes, 82, of Frederick passed away at Kline Hospice House on Monday, June, 17, 2019. He was the husband of Wanda DeLashmutt Himes of 63 years. Born June 18, 1936 in Frederick he was the son of the late Paul E. and Flo Himes.

David was a very caring person who loved his family very much. He loved to make people laugh with his quick wit and sense of humor that brought smiles to lots of people. He worked for Frederick County Government for 25 years as well as helping his brother Paul with his cleaning business. During his younger days he worked for Fishers as a driver for Pabst Blue Ribbon. He liked to frequent flea markets to collect baseball and football cards, and anything coca-cola. He also liked drag racing, Orioles, and the Redskins.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons Allen Himes and John Himes, grandson Dustin Stouffer, and sister-in-law Mirian Himes. He was preceded in death by son David L. Himes, Jr., brothers, Richard Himes and wife Juanita, John Himes and wife Nancy, and Paul Himes. He will be greatly missed by numerous nieces and nephews.

His wife would like to thank everyone at Hospice of Frederick for their love and care they gave David and her, especially Jen, Gloria, and Cathy. She would also like to extend a special thank you to her siblings Pete, Pattie, Marrietta, and brother-in-law David for all the help they gave.

Family and friends can gather at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD on Saturday, June 29 ^th 2019 from 12 p.m. to that start of the memorial service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O.
