Charles William Castle Whisner, Jr.

Mr. Charles William Castle "Mike" Whisner, Jr., 91, of Frederick, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Frederick on October 28, 1927, he was a son of the late Charles W. Whisner, Sr., and Mae Mills Whisner.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air during WW II and U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was retired from the Government, having worked for the National Bureau of Standards and Fort Detrick.

Surviving are his brothers, Robert Whisner and Guy Whisner and wife Ethel, all of Frederick and many nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. "Patsy" Bennett Whisner, two sisters, Irene Elkins and Doris Ropp, one brother, Phil Whisner.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at the Pine Grove Cemetery, 805 S. Main Street, Mt, Airy. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick.
