Charles B. Luhn

Mr. Charles "Charlie" Luhn, 96, of Frederick, died Monday, September 11, 2023 at Fahrney Keedy Nursing Home, Boonsboro.  He was the loving husband of the late Anne "Betty" (Kroh) Luhn for 68 years.

Charles proudly served in the US Navy during WWII.  He was a life member of the American Legion Post #11, where he enjoyed a Miller Lite with his friends on Thursday afternoons.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing his harmonica.

Mr. Luhn was the father of Anne Keyser and husband Frank "Buddy" of Boonsboro, Michael Luhn of Frederick and David Luhn and wife Wanda of Thurmont.  He is also survived by his grandchildren; Scott Luhn and wife Monica and Bradley Luhn amd great-grandson; Sebastian Luhn, step-granddaughter; Charlotte McKee, sister-in-law; Patricia Luhn, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law; Kristin Luhn, sister; Geraldine Luhn, and brothers; Lester Luhn, Kenneth Luhn and James Luhn.

The family would like to thank the nurses and caretakers at Fahrney Keedy for their kindness and care of Dad.

The family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm, on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, on Monday September 18, 2023 at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charlie's name to a Veteran's Organization of your choice.
