Catherine Ilene Hoffman

Mrs. Catherine Ilene Hoffman, 92, of Frederick, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. She was the wife of the late Carlton E. Hoffman, who preceded her in death in 1985.

Born June 5, 1930 in Johnsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late George and Nettie Hoffman Clabaugh. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Catherine worked many years in the textile industry and finished her working career building electronic circuit boards. She was a great cook and was in her glory whenever she could share that talent with her family.

Catherine is survived by her sons; Wayne (Diana) Hoffman and David (Diane) Hoffman, grandchildren; Christie (Jeremy) Lawrence, Lauren (Christopher) Tipton , Alan (Kristin) Hoffman and Amy (Nicholas) Palazzo; great-grandchildren Brennan and Maddox Lawrence, Sophia and Henry Tipton, Adalyn and Joshua Hoffman and Braeden and Gavin Palazzo; sister, Margaret Wastler, sister-in-law Shirley Clabaugh and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings; Helen Clabaugh, James Clabaugh, Shirley Stull, Ralph Clabaugh and Evelyn Hale.

The family will receive friends from 10am to 11am, on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11am. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
