Carroll Leslie Harbaugh

Mr. Carroll Leslie Harbaugh, 96, of Thurmont, MD, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Kline Hospice House, Mt. Airy, MD. Born on March 19, 1927 in Emmitsburg, MD, he was the son of the late Harry Roy Harbaugh and Alice Burdett Eyler Harbaugh. Carroll was the husband of the late Betty Jane Crampton Harbaugh whom he married on December 31, 1949 and shared his life with for 71 years. He is survived by two of his sons, Steven Harbaugh and Jeffery Harbaugh (Debbie) and a grandson, Jeffery Harbaugh Jr., all of Thurmont, MD. In addition
to his wife, he was predeceased by his son, Carroll Ronald Harbaugh in 2021.

He was a veteran, having served from May 1945 to November 1946 with the US Army in the European African Middle Eastern Campaign of World War II. Following his military service, he was employed at Fort Detrick, Frederick MD, and by several government contractors over the course of his career as a medical research laboratory technician.

Carroll was a very talented musician and played bass and mandolin in local country/bluegrass bands for many years as his hobby; and enjoyed maintaining his perfectly trimmed hedges and yard.

There will not be a visitation or service. Burial will be at Glade Cemetery in Walkersville, MD at the convenience of the immediate family.
