Carolyn Jane Emerick

Carolyn Jane Emerick, 87, of Frederick MD passed peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2022. Born on February 25, 1935 in Windber PA, she was the loving daughter of Joseph and Nellie Hagan. Jane partnered with her husband David, to run their own successful Public Relations and Advertising firm and was a highly successful Real Estate Agent in Pittsburgh PA. Jane spent the remainder of her career in Human Resources at USP in Rockville and Leisure World of Silver Spring. Jane loved to dance and play the piano. As a young adult, the strikingly beautiful and talented Jane Hagan, was an accompanist at the Gene Kelly Dance Studio in Johnstown PA. She loved to play the piano and did so well into her 80s. Known for her stuffing on Thanksgiving and nut rolls at Christmas, she loved the family gatherings during the holidays.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Patricia Durst and Jay Durst, Dorine Emerick wife of Jason Emerick, and Jim Clarkin husband of Sandra Clarkin. Jane is survived by her husband David Emerick, her sister Sandra Clarkin, son Jason Emerick and wife Coleen, daughter Erin Weiland and husband Michael, and daughter Amy Engels and husband Greg. Jane is survived by nine grandchildren, David Emerick, Benjamin Emerick (wife Jamie), Patrick Emerick, David Weiland (wife Kayla), Brian DeCesare (wife Emma), Jonathan Weiland (husband Brad), Joseph Weiland, Carolyn Carr (husband David), and Holly Engels. In addition, there are seven great-grandchildren, Avery Weiland, Hazel DeCesare, Mark DeCesare, Ruth DeCesare, Linnea Carr, Eira Carr, and Halston Carr. Also, in addition are Jane’s nephew Brian Calvano and niece Marcia Randolph.

The Funeral Service and Interment will be in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on Thursday October 13, 2022 11:00 AM at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies 1158 Morgan Road Bridgeville, PA 15017.

The family would like to thank Jane’s care team, at the Kline Hospice House, who facilitated a beautiful and peaceful transition to heaven.
