SPC Brian Andrew Seymour, age 32, of Frederick, Maryland died on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. Born in Frederick on June 25, 1987, Brian was the son of Cynthia A. Watson and Gregory M. Seymour. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Jennifer Seymour, mother of his sons - Kameron Taylor Seymour and Chase Andrew Seymour, and Jenny Glotfelty, mother of his son Brian Andrew Seymour, Jr. As well as his siblings, Elizabeth Mutchler, Adyson Seymour, Seth Seymour, and Caleb Seymour, step-mother Shannon Seymour, and grandparents Margaret Watson, Richard Seymour, and Deborah Johnson. He was preceded in death by grandparents Gerald R. Watson and Bonnie Bauerle.
Brian A. Seymour was a Specialist in the 115th Engineer Company, 779th Engineer Battalion of the Army National Guard. Brian was a Field Artillery Cannon Crew Member and served our country from July 2008 to July 2012. During his military service, Brian graduated with honors from combat basic training and received many other awards, including: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device. Brian was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in a designated imminent danger area from July 2009 to May 2010. Brian’s character and abilities as a solider caused him to be elected as one of the best in his company and to serve on the Battalion Commanders PSD team to provide security on patrols and convoys. Brian continued his service through actively participating in veterans programs and volunteering at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center.
Brian loved spending time with his three sons, hiking, and cars. He was active in personal training and body building. Brian competed in the 2018 NPC Maryland State/East Coast Classic and placed 5th in Men’s Classic Physique - Maryland Class C. He also competed in the 2019 NPC Baltimore Gladiator Championships and won first place in Men’s Heavyweight Bodybuilding.
Brian touched the lives of many people in many different ways. He will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 11am until the start of the memorial service at 1pm on January 11, 2020 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to continue to support the furthering education of his sons.
