Brenda Bennett Bell of Frederick, Maryland passed away peacefully on February 20, 2023. She was born on May 24, 1930 in Washington, DC to James V. Bennett and Marie Ettl.
She attended Bethesda Chevy Chase High School and went on to attend Conneticut College for Women. While washing dishes at her sorority house one evening she met a dashing young cadet named Henry Bell from the Coast Guard Academy across the street. They fell in love, married and started an adventure of military life that took them all over the United States. They had three children along the way that kept Brenda busy as a mother and military wife. She loved children and was a passionate preschool teacher and real estate agent. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and entertaining.
Upon retirement they settled in Maryland and traveled to many states and many other countries until Henry’s passing in 2006.After living in Tucson for a few years, Brenda moved to Frederick, MD where she resided until passing.
She is survived by her three children, Sharon (Dan) Wardman of San Jose, CA, Brian (Heidi) Bell of Salt Lake City, UT, and Brenda (John) Ramsdell of Eugene, OR. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, brother and sister.
The family would like to thank Mom’s companion, Sharon Miller, for her many years of devotion and kindness. We would also like to thank the staff of Buckingham's Choice, especially in the Assisted Living and Nursing Care Units. They showed dedication and compassion towards out Mother through this sad journey of memory loss. And finally the incredible Hospice Team from Frederick Health Memorial, whose counseling and exceptional compassionate care was a great comfort to the family during this final leg of the journey.
