Betty Virginia Blumenauer

Betty V. Blumenauer was born May 15, 1923 in Frederick Maryland where she spent her entire life.  She was a daughter of John Long Sr and Violet Ray Long.  She was married to the love of her life Charles Robert (Pat) Blumenauer, who preceded her in death, on June 19, 1982.

Betty outlived all of her brothers and sisters; John Jr., George (Al), Joseph L., Merhle C., Anna Lee Fout and Shirley Elizabeth Baker.  She is survived by 10 nieces and nephews.

Betty joined the Baptist Church as a teenager. She belonged to a number of clubs in town through the years including the American Legion and the Democrat club. She retired in 1988 after 42 years of service with Price Electric.

Betty was a great bargain hunting person and an active shopper for many years!  Like her mother she was a great cook and still cooked for nieces and nephews well into her 90s!  She loved traveling and especially Las Vegas.  She was feisty, full of fun and said "When I am gone I want everyone to know that I had a good life".  She was loved dearly and will be missed.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, P.A., 106 E. Church Street on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. The funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Interment immediately following in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
