Betsey Kearney

Ms. Mary Elizabeth "Betsey" Kearney, 80, of Frederick, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Born December 2, 1943 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Bowman) Michael.

She is survived by her daughters; Kami Greene and husband Dave, Kelly Spore, grandsons; Bryce Greene, Bailey Spore and Keifer Spore, brother, George E. Michael II, sister-in-law, Cathy Michael, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Michael and sister-in-law, Jan Michael.

Known affectionately as Bets, Betsey, Nana or Ms. K, she touched so many lives in numerous ways. She made friends for life and was always available with thoughtful advice, kind words, warm hospitality and great food & wine. Raising two daughters on her own, she spent most of her career in advertising in the DC area. She loved having grandsons and enjoyed keeping up with their busy lives as well as making Christmas cookies with them annually. Her lessons in love and support will echo on for years to come.

The family is having a Celebration of Life in her honor on October 12th. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (lls.org) or to Kline Hospice House (frederickhealthhospice.org/kline-hospice-house)
