Benjamin (better known as Pap or Pappy) was a man of many gifts and talents, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone. He would always say “Everyone deserves a chance, and everyone needs help at some point in their life.” Whether it was a place to stay, food, money, fix their car, or picked up in the middle of the night if they were stranded. If you called him, he was there. He was a gifted mechanic; he could fix any engine. He started as a young boy working on farm equipment. His love for trucks started at the age of 16, driving a milk truck. Then proceeded to tractor trailers driving across the country. His stories were endless. Later in life he proceeded to different trades. Heavy equipment operator and head mechanic, asphalt paving, pipeline, owner and worker of a construction company and trash service. Working was a pleasure to him. He loved gathering and reminiscing, sharing his life stories. We loved hearing him share the stories; he was a true storyteller. He was the rock of our family, strong and bold; and always dependable; yet generous, gentle, loving, and kind. We will all truly miss him; he was one of a kind. So, fly high Pap and know that you will always live within our hearts and never forgotten, and we know you will still be watching over us from heaven. We love you.
