Anna Mae Murphy, 95, died peacefully on June 21, 2023, at Tranquility of Fredericktowne. Anna Mae was born on November 8, 1927, in Maryland to the late Roy Franklin Myers and the late Alice Virginia Horman Myers. Anna Mae Myers married the late Howard Murphy and settled in Frederick County where they raised their three children, Audie, Daryl and Beverly. She worked until retirement as a school secretary at Urbana Elementary School. She was beloved by generations of students. Anna Mae loved cooking and canning her fruits and vegetables from her garden, cheering the formerly named Washington Redskins and Nationals. She was a life member of the American Legion Francis Scott Key Post #11 auxiliary in Frederick and the Emmitsburg VFW, Post 6658 Auxiliary. She worshipped at Flint Hill United Methodist Church, Adamstown, MD. Anna Mae loved spending time with her family most of all. She is survived by her children, Audie Murphy (Vicki), Daryl Murphy (Sharon) and Beverly Murphy True. She is the grandmother of Brian Murphy (Dawn), Kelly Murphy (Emilie), Shawn Murphy, Mark Murphy (Lindsey), Cindy Stuffle (Wade), and Erin Goff (Jason). She is the great grandmother of Austin, Autumn, Logan, Reagan, Morgan, Angela, Alex, Savannah, Grant, Emmalyn, Briar and Remington. She is also survived by her very dear sister-in-law, Mary Alice Simmons of Hershey, PA. Anna Mae is predeceased by her son-in-law, Richard True. Friends and relatives are invited to visit on Monday, June 26, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Homes, P.A. 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD, 21701 where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
