Ann Elizabeth Smith

Ann Elizabeth joined her heavenly family on February 12, 2025. Ann was the beloved wife (74 years) of Ai B. Smith II, and they had three wonderful children, Susan (Darby) Smith, Elizabeth Smith and is preceded by Ai. B. Smith III (Karen) her in death.

Ann was raised in Frederick and was the daughter of the late Charles P. Staley and Letitia Brown Staley Null. She was preceded by her three brothers, Paul R., Charles J., and Robert B. Staley.

Ann Elizabeth had seven grandchildren Darby (Dawn) Smith, Kellie (Chance) Mason, Catherine Smith, Sara Garland, Kira Gessner (Caleb), Anna Mikkelsen (Parker), and Samantha Smith. Ann also had four great grandchildren, Briley and Talon Mason, Ryker Tabley and Audrey Martin. Ann thought her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the dearest children on earth.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be officiated by the Rev. Catherine Thompson of All Saints’ Episcopal, Frederick, MD. Ann Elizabeth was a lifelong member of All
Saints’ and taught Sunday school for many years, as well as serving on the Altar Guild.

At Ann’s request, the memorial service will be private - family only.
