Celestina M. Acosta

April 19, 1923 — March 20, 2011

Mrs. Celestina M. Acosta, 87, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Frederick. She was the wife of the late Macario Acosta.

Born April 19, 1923 in the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Savina and Calixto Manantan.

Mrs. Acosta worked as a chef/cook for the U. S. Consulate office first in the Philippines and later at the Rockville location. She moved to the United States in 1974 and lived in Virginia, Washington, DC and Maryland. She lived with her daughter in Colorado for five years before returning to this area. She last resided with her son in Monrovia before becoming a resident at Citizens two years ago.

She is survived by her two sons, Romeo Acosta of Monrovia; and Cesar Acosta and his wife, Brenda, of Middletown; her daughter, Marivic Forney and her husband, Dale, of Colorado; five grandchildren, Ed, Eric, Andrew, Daniel and Rochelle; and one great-grandchild, Kegan.

Graveside services will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Parklawn Memorial Park, 12800 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville. Those wishing to attend should assemble at the main entrance of the cemetery by 12:45 p.m.
