David Wayne Baker

Mr. David Wayne "Spock" Baker, 40, of Frederick, died Monday, November 8, 2010 at his home.

Born November 14, 1969 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, he was the son of Susanna Schmidt Baker of Frederick, and the late James Russell Baker, Sr.

David was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He also loved to go fishing.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, Alisha Baker and Corey Baker; siblings, James Baker, Jr., Paul Baker, Dorothy Shaffer, Jay Baker, Michael Allen Baker, and Shawn Baker; three nieces and numerous cousins. He also will be remembered by many good friends including Jeff Wages, Julie Lawson and Brian Vogel.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, Md. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13 from the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Elsabeth S. Hilke of Grace Trinity United Church of Christ.

Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in David's name directly to the funeral home at the above address.
