Dorothy Ramsey Brune

Mrs. Dorothy Jean (Ramsey) Russell Brune, 82, of Frederick, Maryland formerly of Fairfax, Virginia, died peacefully Thursday, April 14, 2011. She was the wife of Frederick W. Brune, Jr.

Born on May 9, 1928, in Elkins, West Virginia, Dotty was the daughter of the late Ruford and Maggie (Biller) Ramsey.

Dotty graduated from Elkins High School and attended Davis and Elkins College before moving to the DC area, where she later worked in the Fairfax County School System. She was a longtime member of the Fairfax United Methodist Church and more recently of the Arnolia United Methodist Church in Baltimore, Maryland.

In addition to her husband, Dotty is survived by her son, David Russell and wife Dale, her daughter, Marianne Russell Williford, grandchildren, Cathy Sechrist and husband William, Alan Williford, Danny Russell and wife Alison, Joey Russell and Scott Williford, brother-in-law, George Wamsley, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Ramsey Wamsley.

The family will recieve friends from 10:00 am to 11:30 am on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, Maryland. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 in the Etchison Memorial Chapel. Pastor Gary L. Sheffield-James will officiate. Interment will be at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church Cemetery, Owings Mills, Maryland.
