Charlotte Blumenauer Rothenhoefer Burdette

Mrs. Charlotte Blumenauer Rothenhoefer Burdette, 85, died on February 28, 2011 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA. She was the wife of the late Guy Putman Burdette, who died on February 11, 2011. Born on August 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Charles Daniel and Mary Katherine (Schade) Blumenauer.

She was a 1942 graduate of Frederick High School and worked as a homemaker for Maryland Department of Social Services Frederick County.

Mrs. Burdette was very active in her church, St. Johns Episcopal Church in Harpers Ferry, WV. When she lived in Frederick, she was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, being active in the St. Marys Chapter. She was a very loving mother, and enjoyed being with her family. Mrs. Burdette liked doing word search puzzles. She was, at one time, a member of the Maryland Classified Employees Association or MCEA.

Mrs. Burdette is survived by daughters Sandra Duffy of Hampstead, Katrina Bunnell and husband Curtis of North Carolina, Teresa Masser and husband Robert of Falling Waters, WV and Candy Rothenhoefer Holly and husband Troy, 7 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. She is also survived by sister Katherine Danner of Walkersville and Charles Blumenauer of Bedford, VA. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas F. Rothenhoefer, 2 siblings, and her stepfather Leslie Stull.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 2 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3 at 11 AM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
