Eleanor Thomas Bussard

Mrs. Eleanor Thomas Bussard, 95, of Frederick, died on Friday, April 1, 2011, at Homewood at Crumland Farms. She was the wife of the late Walter L. Bussard, who died on March 14, 1983. Born in Harmony Grove on December 3, 1915, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Effie Hargett Thomas. Mrs. Bussard was a graduate of Hood College and longtime member of the Evangelical Reformed United Church of Christ . For several years she taught home economics in Baltimore City and later in life became a nursery school teacher in Montgomery County. Surviving are her two sons, David T. Bussard and wife Kanoknart "Took" Visudtibhan, of Selinsgrove, PA and Wayne K. Bussard, of Damascus; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Dr. William H. Thomas, Jr., two sisters, Mildred T. Rhoads and Ethel T. Albaugh. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, April 10, 2011, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. The Rev. Dr. Barbara Kershner Daniel, pastor of Evangelical Reformed United Church of Christ, will officiate. Private internment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
