Doris Fay Tregoning Cromwell Taylor

Mrs. Doris Fay Tregoning Cromwell Taylor, 77, of Frederick, passed with family members by her side, after a long courageous battle with breast cancer Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at her daughter's home in Keymar. Twice married, she was the wife of the late Kenneth Curtis Cromwell and Earl S. Taylor. Born April 12, 1933, in Frederick, she was a daughter of the late Russell S. and Catherine Irene Kimmel Tregoning. She was a true Fredericktonian.

She had worked for many years in several Frederick grocery stores, part time at May's Hardware store on Rosemont Avenue, and operated a produce stand in Rocky Springs, where she will be remembered by many friends. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and was a member of School House Quilters and the Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her three children, Kenneth R. Cromwell and wife, Renee, of Keedysville, Steven Cromwell and wife, Lori, of Frederick, and Susan Irene Baker and husband, James, of Keymar; one brother, James Tregoning and wife, Lucille, of Falling Waters, W.Va.; three sisters, Patricia Gue and husband, James, of Fairfield, Pa., and Janie Crone and husband, Mark, and Nancy Wallace, all of Frederick; nine grandchildren, Dustin Ignasiak and wife, Patty, Kevin Ignasiak and wife, Gracie, Kelly Cromwell, Michael Cromwell, David Cromwell, Megan Baker, Russell Cromwell, Kurtis Cromwell and Sean Cromwell; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Joseph and Jacob Ignasiak; and many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by members of the Taylor family and longtime special friend, Harvey Blank of Frederick.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Donald Tregoning; brother-in-law, Joseph Wallace; and special friend, Lillie Esworthy.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Pastor William Lundgren of Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.

Pallbearers will be David Cromwell, Michael Cromwell, Sean Cromwell, Kurtis Cromwell, Russell Cromwell, Dustin Ignasiak, Kevin Ignasiak and Joseph Wallace.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702, or to American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Eldersburg, MD 21784.
