Mr. Robert Allen Culler died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at his home in Frederick, MD.
Allen, age 61, was the second son born to Robert Lee Culler and Phyllis Gordon Culler on October 29, 1949. He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Deborah Korrell Culler of Frederick, MD; his daughter Amy Culler Rembold, her husband, Major Michael Rembold and his only grandchild, Ethan of Kathmandu, Nepal. He is also survived by his brothers, Gordon Culler and wife Ellen of Simpsonville, SC and Donald Culler and his wife Debbie of Frederick, MD. Allen is also survived by many family and friends who all were an integral part of his life.
Allen graduated from Governor Thomas Johnson High school in 1967, earned his teaching degree from Frostburg College in 1971 as well as earning a Master's degree from Western Maryland College. Mr. Culler worked as a school teacher for over 30 years within the Frederick County School system teaching middle school social studies. He was also a licensed certified real estate appraiser, and ran and operated Culler Appraisal Service for 8 years following his retirement from teaching. Additionally, Allen officiated local high school football games for over 30 years through the Frederick County Football Association. An avid golfer, Allen played in the County City League as well as the "PGA" (Poor Golfer's Association).
Allen known as "Poppy" to Ethan, enjoyed spending their time together walking in the meadow and searching for crayfish in the creek. He will be sorely missed by Ethan.
