Ms. Lauren Allison Doane, 23, of Falling Waters, W. Va., and formerly of Frederick, Md., died suddenly Wednesday, May 25, 2011.
Born March 1, 1988 in Silver Spring, Md., she was the daughter of James Carter and Kelley Jean Doane of Bridgeport, W. Va.
Lauren was a 2007 graduate of Hedgesville High School and had studied art at Shepherd University. She was an artist who loved oil painting. She participated in art shows around the West Virginia eastern pan-handle.
Lauren was a great athlete who excelled at soccer and track. She also loved to dance and enjoyed participating in Zumba classes. Lauren loved her dog, Winnie.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, James Tyler Doane; her sister, Brittany Noelle Doane; paternal grandparents, Kenneth Ivan and Donita Michelle Doane; maternal grandmother, June Hazel Dwyer; three uncles, Dean Dwyer, Gary Dwyer; and Mark Dwyer and his wife, Karen; one aunt, Kim Dwyer; paternal great uncles Mike Soo, James White, and Patrick Soo; paternal great aunts, Carol Soo, Leslie White, and Connie Emerson; many cousins; and dear friends, Kelly and Gram Penwell, and Donna Morris.
Lauren was predeceased by her infant daughter, Sofia Marie; her maternal grandfather, Arthur Thomas Dwyer; an aunt, Jeanne-Marie Allison Doane; great-grandfather, James Doane; great-grandmother, Elaine Bise Doane; great-grandfather, Raymond Soo; and great-grandmother, Vivian Martin Soo.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 2 from the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
