Jane Louise Fagan Obituary
Mrs. Jane Louise Fagan, 92, formerly of Monocacy Village in Frederick, died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Somerford Assisted Living. She was the loving wife of the late Lewis F. Fagan Jr. for 67 years.
She was born on March 3, 1918 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ada Jane Troupe.
Mrs. Fagan worked at the downtown Sears for 26 years. She was a lifelong member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and participated in many activities including being a Sunday school teacher and the Mothers class. Jane had a wonderful smile, loved people and brought joy to everyone who knew her. She will be missed by her family as well as her loving caregivers at the Somerford Assisted Living in Frederick.
She is survived by two daughters, Vonda Roberts and husband Pete and Kathy Barrick and husband Gerry, both of Frederick, nine grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as "Grammy Jane", Rick Fagan and wife Karen of Frederick, Sheila FitzGerald and husband Vince of Bel Air, Sean Fagan and wife Tracy of Swedesboro, NJ, Laura Benintend and husband Anthony of Encinitas, CA, Robert Barrick and wife Janna of Frederick, Daniel Barrick and wife Lisa of Stone Ridge, VA, Matthew Roberts and wife Chelsea of San Antonio, TX, Melissa Estes and husband Casey of Frederick and Kristen Roberts of Frederick, 13 great-Grandchildren, one brother, Robert Troupe and wife Edie of Frederick, one sister, Faye Burtner, one sister-in-law, Kay Fagan, two daughter-in-laws, Nancy Crum and husband Tom of Bradenton, FL and Cheryl Fagan of Frederick, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Lewis Fagan III and Dennis Fagan, two sisters, Carolyn (Betty) Wise and Doris Troupe.
The family will receive from 3-6 pm on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 35 East Church Street, Frederick. Rev. Dr. Robert Driver-Bishop will officiate. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
