Blanche Virginia Fletcher

Blanche Virginia Fletcher, 94, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Kline Hospice House. She was born on December 9, 1916 in Burkittsville, MD to the late Mary Virginia Prince Gordon and Ira Clarence Gordon. She resided at 3305 Jefferson Pike, Jefferson, MD. She was married to the late Charles William Fletcher.

Proceeding her in death were Phyllis Fletcher and Joyce Fletcher, daughters; and Virgie Little and Emma Young, sisters. She is survived by her son David Fletcher of Jefferson; son Donald Fletcher and wife, Joan of Frederick; grandson, Donald, Jr. and wife, Cary of Frederick; four great-grandsons, Shawn, Christopher, Nicholas and Hunter and numerous nieces and nephews.

Blanche was a member at Brownsville Church of the Brethren where she attended many dinners and social events and always looked forward to the annual church affiliated Disaster Auction in Westminster, MD. She enjoyed going to many of the local carnivals in the summer, as well as the annual community picnic in Eutica, MD. Blanche enjoyed life to the fullest and was a good friend to all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 12 Noon at the Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1911 Rohrersville Road, Brownsville, MD 21715. The interment will follow in the church yard cemetery. The Rev. Alan Smith will officiate.
