Paul F. Fogle

Mr. Paul F. Fogle, age 89, of Frederick, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was the loving and devoted husband for 63 years of Anna M. (Beachley) Fogle. Born on May 7, 1921 in Frederick he was the son of the late Albert & Carrie (Welty) Fogle.

He served our nation in the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Following his time in the military, he worked for 20 years at Fort Detrick. In his retirement, he stayed busy owning several successful antique businesses as well as auction facilities. He also operated a retail furniture store in downtown Frederick and built custom homes in Washington County. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, making custom designed furniture.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Fogle is survived by his two children, James F. Fogle & wife Rose of Frederick and Susan K. Burall & husband Tom of Frederick. He was the grandfather of James Jewell & wife Michelle of Thurmont; Linda Wallace & husband Nathan of Hagerstown; Meredith Miller & husband Alex of Philadelphia, PA and Aaron Burall of Frederick. He was additionally survived by 5 great-grandsons and one great-great granddaughter, a sister-in-law Alma Fogle and numerous nieces & nephews. He will be missed by his special friends Hallar Best and Stanley Gunther. Mr. Fogle is preceded in death by his siblings, Arthur Fogle, Russell Fogle, Richard Fogle and Frances Best.

Friends will be received on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 7 to 9 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 10 AM. The interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, PO Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702 or Leukemia Society of America, 11350 McCormick Road, Suite #100, Hunt Valley, Maryland 21031.
