Betty Lucille French

Mrs. Betty Lucille (Smith) French, age 84 of Brunswick, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Earl French who passed away on August 5, 1972. Born on April 12, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ruth (Souders) Smith.

She was the past auxiliary president of the Frederick Eagles. She is a member of the Brunswick Moose and Eagles as well as AARP. She enjoyed feeding the birds at her house, NASCAR, Bingo, watching TV and growing flowers. She was the last of her immediate family.

She was the mother of Robert "Bobby" French of Brunswick, Earl French, Jr. of Brunswick, and Brenda Lowe of Frederick, the grandmother of Shelly Christina French of Thurmont, Allison M. Lowe of Mt. Airy, and Sierra R. Lowe of Frederick and the great-grandmother of Noah Smith and Caleigh Fenderson. She is additionally survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 12 noon until 1 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will be held at 1 PM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
