Helen Louise Goldey

Mrs. Helen Louise Goldey, 97, of Frederick, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Country Meadows Retirement Community. Born April 1, 1912, in New York, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Caesar Canfora and Linda Gailbais Canfora.

Mrs. Goldey was an accountant, working for Macy's and Marine Midland bank. She enjoyed cooking, especially Italian food.

Mrs. Goldey is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lodwig of New Market; grandchildren, Richard Lodwig and his wife, Mindy, of Leesburg, and Christine Bednarick and her husband, Ronald, of Atlanta. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Matthew Bednarick, Kylie Bednarick, Abbey Lodwig and Lindsey Lodwig; as well as her sister, Ida Ierardi of New York. Mrs. Goldey was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Canfora; and sister, Olga Spataro.

Immediate services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Libertytown, at a time and date to be announced.
