Mary Esther Good

Mrs. Mary Esther Good, age 88 of Frederick passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the Golden Living Center, Frederick. She was the wife of the late Millard Paul Good. Born on May 30, 1923, in Lovettsville, Virginia,she was the daughter of the late Ray and Katie (Axline) Newton.

Before marriage and being a mother, Mrs. Good worked at the Frederick Tayloring Company. She later became a wonderful mother and homemaker. She loved playing bingo, doing crafts and listening to country and gospel music.

Mary was the mother of Patricia McFarland and husband David of Frederick and Nancy Morgan and husband Dennis of Thurmont, the grandmother of Donna Paul, Melissa DeGrange, David McFarland, Jr., Charles Hurt, Heather Rock, Julie Wilber, and Jason Morgan, the great-grandmother of 12 and the great-great-grandmother of 1. She is additionally survived by her two sisters, Thelma Baker and Sara Jane Covell and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by siblings Harry Newton, Margaret Brown, John Newton, Kathleen Brandenburg, and Charlotte Scoggins.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, December 8, 2011, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Pastor Janet Cregger, will officiate. The interment will follow at the Union Chapel Cemetery, Libertytown.
