Karen Lynn Green

Mrs. Karen Lynn Green, 53, of Frederick, died Monday, October 25, 2010 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of John Roland Green, Sr. They were married for 36 years.

Born Jan. 24, 1957 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Robert James and Emma Jane Baker McHugh.

Mrs. Green worked as a housing coordinator for Frederick County government for 14 years. She was very crafty and loved attending craft shows.

She also loved gardening, working in her yard and tending to her fish pond. She enjoyed her family and her home. Mrs. Green especially loved to sit on her deck overlooking her yard and her fish pond. This was her peaceful getaway.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Melissa Blank and husband, Kevin; and her son, John Green, Jr., all of Frederick; four grandchildren, Koral Buck, Alissa Bosley, Jacob Green, and Josephine Aubrey Brynn Nichols-Green; a sister, Marilyn Blank of Boonsboro, and a brother, Michael E. McHugh of Frederick.

She leaves behind many family members and great friends.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 1 from the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. James S. Flora.

Interment will be in Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Myersville. Serving as bearers will be her husband, John Green Sr.; her son, John Green, Jr.; her son-in-law, Kevin Blank; her brother, Mike McHugh; and family friends, Rick Beard and Bruce VanSant.
