Gladys V. Haines

Gladys Virginia Haines, 95, of Frederick, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. She was the wife of the late Emory G. Haines, who died on July 14, 1972. Born on May 3, 1915, in Connowingo, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Floyd William and Matty Keyser Clingan. Gladys worked hard all of her life along side of her husband on Farms and also she had worked at Frederick Tailoring, Eveready Company, Price Electric and retired in 1981 from the American Optical Company. She enjoyed spending time with her entire family of which she had a great love for them all. Gladys was a member of the Moose Club, Patriotic Club, Owls Club, the Redmens, and the Eagles. Surviving her is one son, Floyd W. Haines and wife Jean, one brother, Alan T. Clingan, one sister, Beatrice Toms, five grandchildren, Joy Reichard and Daryle, Tammy Thomas and Rickey, William Coyle, Allan Haines and Gerry, and Robert Haines, 12 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step mother, Edna Clingan, daughter, Barbara L. Stull and her husband Wayne, three infant children, Emory, Jr., and twin daughters, Esther and Estelle, and a sister, Frances Willard. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., on Friday, April 15, 2011, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, April 16, 2011, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Pastor Alan N. Clingan, her brother, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
