Regina Elizabeth Harley

Mrs. Regina E. Harley, age 80, of Thurmont passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Eugene W. Harley, Sr. Born on August 3, 1930 in Thurmont, she was the daughter of the late Willis R. and Edna Grace Devilbiss.

Mrs. Harley worked for much of her life as a seamstress, working at Sagners, Mt. Airy Pants Factory, H. L. Hartz, and Buchiemers. She also worked on an assembly line for Rotorex and for MAC Truck in Hagerstown. She additionally was employed at Weis Markets, cleaned homes, was a caretaker and demonstrated new products. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, gardening, crocheting, flee markets and antiquating, country music, reading and traveling.

Mrs. Harley is survived by her children, Eugene W. Harley, Jr. and wife Jean of Boonsboro and Linda L. Clay of Monrovia. She is the grandmother of Sherry L. Levering and husband Mark of Rocky Ridge, Casey S. Lucas of Manchester, Veronica J. Clay of Brooklyn, NY, and Eugene W. Harley III and wife W. Delayn of Inwood, WV, and the great-grandmother of Colin, Grace and Landon Levering, Thomas and Caitlin Lucas, Trevor Matheny, Ava and Blake Harley, and Noah Beauchamp. She is also survived by her sister Mrs. Agnes M. Heims of Thurmont and one stepsister, Marie Stimmel of Taneytown. She will also be missed by her companion George L. Anzelone and her dear friends Christine and Leonard Mech & Maria Wood. She is preceded in death by her siblings Ruth F. Sherry, Robert L. Devilbiss, and Ray J. Devilbiss and her great-grandchild Hannah Elizabeth Levering.

Friends will be received on Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 9 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 11:00 AM. The interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
