Mrs. I. Marie Hartman, 89, of Frederick, died on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at Chester River Manor, in Chestertown. She was the wife of the late Louis A. "Monk" Hartman, who died August 20, 1976. Born in Frederick County, on October 29, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Arthur W. and Lakie T. Davis Peomroy. Mrs. Hartman was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed working with crafts, traveling and going on cruises. She at one time was very active as a girl scout leader. Mrs. Hartman was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. She was a member and past president of the auxiliary to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and also a member of the Auxiliary to the Junior Fire Company # 2. Surviving are her children, John M. Hartman, Sr., of Frederick, and Kathleen T. Schrodel and husband William, of Massey and Rosemarie Cheeks and husband Gary, of Frederick, eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She will also be remembered by several nieces, nephews, and two special friends, Frances Miss and Millie Romsburg. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Huff and Ruth Peomroy.
